Here Vs. There, Work Vs. Network, Production Vs. Reproduction, Etc.
a graphic design conference
North by Northeast* *(and South) explores the potential of shared lineage between graphic designers originating from the ‘margins’ (North, East, South) of the established contemporary graphic design hubs. It appears that with the growing pre-eminence of cross-border networks a transition towards a more globally uniform direction in graphic design is emerging. Or should we maybe look past aesthetic and formal characteristics and instead look for the decisive difference in the way graphic design is still produced, contextualised and placed in relation to local contexts?
