Symposium Experimental Crossings
Op vrijdag 10 en zaterdag 11 februari organiseert iArts Maastricht het tweedaagse symposium Experimental Crossings. Het symposium onderzoekt interdisciplinariteit in kunstpraktijken als een manier om nieuwe perspectieven te ontwikkelen binnen het debat over de legitimiteit en relevantie van de kunst. Voormalig onderzoeker Jasper Coppes zal spreken tijdens de werksessie over kennis op vrijdag. Experimental Crossings vindt plaats aan het Conservatorium Maastricht; vanaf 20u verplaatst het programma zich op beide dagen naar de Jan van Eyck Academie voor Rosa sub Rosa 9: Europa 5.1. Symposium Experimental Crossings
Why do we need art? The current global financial and economic crisis, and the rise of populism in politics are challenging artists and art worlds to give convincing answers to this question. During the symposium Experimental Crossings, we explore inter-disciplinarity in arts practices as a way to find new openings in the debate on the legitimacy and relevance of the arts. Experimental Crossings will take place on 10 and 11 February at the Maastricht Academy of Music. Former Fine Art researcher Jasper Coppes will take part in the working session on knowledge, on Friday. The symposium is organised by the iArts programme and features the show Rosa sub Rosa 9: Europa 5.1 both days at 20h at the Jan van Eyck Academie.
