Asako Iwama (JP)

Asako Iwama is an artist who lives and works in Berlin and Tokyo. Her practice seeks to transform our perceptions of nourishment—aesthetically and epistemologically, in the resonance of nature and personhood. Taking the form of films, installations and interactions, oftentimes through the process of cooking, her works open up space for audiences to navigate the margins between composition and constitution, affinity and social context, knowledge and history.

She is the founder of the collective pop-up café and was part of Studio Olafur Eliasson from 2005 to 2014. She is currently a resident at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht.
