Gerda Blees (1985) is a Dutch writer of poetry and prose. She published a short story collection, Aan doodgaan dachten we niet (We didn't think about dying, 2017), a poetry collection, Dwaallichten (Ghost lights, 2018) and a novel, Wij zijn licht(We are light, 2020). She is interested in human madness, tragedy and death. Next to her writing she studies Fine Arts at the Rietveld Academy, where she likes to play with the boundaries between reality and fiction. At Jan van Eyck she will work on an important element of her second novel: an imaginary machine that records and plays back the last thoughts of people who are dying.
