New printing press for Charles Nypels Lab

On 4 June an Asbern proof press was installed in the Van Eyck’s Charles Nypels Lab.  The press arrived in Maastricht together with a large collection of letters in wood and lead, and is a loan from the German designer Herbert Titz. Traditionally, a proof press is used to test the type setting before printing on the production press. The CNL will use the press, among others, to print woodcuts, linocuts and posters.
