Nina Polak

On 2 April Nina Polak started her 2 month writer-in-residency at the Jan van Eyck Academie.

Nina Polak (1986) studied at the University of Amsterdam and at the New School University in New York. She is an editor at De Correspondent and writes for De Groene Amsterdammer. Her debut novel We zullen niet te pletter slaan came out in 2014. In 2017 she published her second novel, Gebrek is een groot woord. In 2018, Polak won the BNG Bank Literature Prize 2018 for upcoming literary talent.

The writer-in-residence programme of the Jan van Eyck Academie is a collaboration with the Dutch Foundation for Literature. Each year two writers are selected to take up a residency amidst international artists, designers, curators and thinkers in the framework of Wanderlust, the international talent development programme of the Foundation
