Tiina Pyykkinen

In October 2020, Tiina Pyykkinen (b. 1983, Finland), alumna of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki, will start a 12-month residency programme at Jan van Eyck Academie.  Through painting and installation as the mediums, Pyykkinen is interested in the relationship between perception and physical world and the way the embodied existence and site-specificity contributes to our experiences and interpretations. 

Pyykkinen was selected a Young Artist of the Year 2017 and her work have been presented at museums and galleries in Finland and European countries. Pyykkinen's works are included in the collection of Finnish National gallery, Finnish State Art Comission, Saastamoinen Foundation and the Tampere Art Museum.
