Van Eyck participant Julius Heinemann shows work in the group show unplugged...  from 26 May - 15 July 2018) in Schloss Ringenberg, Hamminklen (Germany)

Minimal interventions at the edges of our field of vision. Concentrated statements at the threshold of the perceivable. Conscious stretching exercises between coincidence and calculations. Artistic Acupuncture. More associative than defined, this describes the shared scope of interest of the three artists Sumi Kim, Julius Heinemann, and Andreas Karl Schulze. With homeopathic drops of colour and sensitive antenna’s for balance and spatial structure, they explore the qualities of the given place. Each of the three artists with their own resources. Most bringing little baggage. But this should not be misunderstood for artistic fengshui or esoterics. This is not about retreating into privacy. In times of social media - when (media and social) visibility appears to be universal, yet functions as a privilege rather than a matter of course - these three artists assert their positions as a self-aware attitude. The exhibition 'unplugged…' concentrates on artistic strategies and practices that are not worn out by the contemporary race for attention.
