Lezing: In Depth (landmines) - Europe

Van Eyck deelnemer Alice Miceli geeft de lezing In Depth (landmines) - Europe tijdens de Research Week 2016 van de Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm op 25 januari om 14:30 uur.

Alice Miceli’s work explores the phenomenon of impenetrable, inaccessible spaces - places that, even in our globalized world, remain somehow off the map. In the Chernobyl Project, 2007-2012, Alice’s research was centered on the creation of visualization patterns for the invisible radioactive contamination in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. In her current research In Depth (landmines), 2015, Alice has looked into mine contaminated areas in Cambodia and Colombia. During the Mejan Residents project, the next step will be to explore mine fields in Europe, notably in Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina, which remain affected as a result of the conflict related to the collapse of Yugoslavia in the 1990’s. Alice will present a talk on these developments.
