As part of the FASHIONCLASH Festival, the Van Eyck hosts a fashion show by Maastricht based designer Ebby Port and a performance by Van Eyck participant Rosanne van Wijk on 1st of July from 14:00 – 16:00.
Ebby Port is a Maastricht based fashion designer. Since 2014 she has been working in the Charles Nypels Lab of the Van Eyck; silk screening her own fabrics, developing patterns and prints that set the tone for her collections. In her intuitive and personal collections, the silhouettes are a reflection of the women she encounters and inspire her: artists, mothers, designers, musicians. Her collections were presented at FASHIONCLASH Festival and different events in Europe. She produces limited editions that are sold through www.ebbyport.com and Kiki Niesten Maastricht.
On 1st of July at 14:00 she will present her first own fashion show in collaboration with jewellery designer Lies Wambacq at the Van Eyck.
Rosanne van Wijk (1994) graduated with honours from the Fashion Design department of the Academy of Fine Art & Design in Arnhem (ArtEZ) in the Netherlands, in 2016. After graduating she felt stuck in the fashion industry. Looking to find a different approach to fashion, she applied for a residency at the Jan van Eyck Academie, where she recently started her work period. Her performance during FASHIONCLASH Festival questions the fashion system and is part of her ongoing research on this topic during her residency at the Van Eyck.
